If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, you may have a dry eye or watery eye condition. They are common problems, but you don’t have to put up with them.
What is dry eye?
You may not be producing enough tears, the tears you produce are of poor quality or evaporating away faster than they should. Any reduction in the quality or quantity of tears can produce a gritty, burning sensation or the experience of watery eyes or eye tiredness.
Symptoms
- Dryness, burning, stinging, grittiness
- Irritation from wind or smoke
- Blurred/smeary vision
- Tired eyes, red eyes
- Excessive watering
- Light sensitivity
- Contact lens discomfort
